ARTSG – S.E.A FOCUS

ART SG organises S.E.A. Focus from 23 to 25 January 2026, integrating it within the fair ART SG as part of Singapore Art Week. The event remains dedicated to contemporary Southeast Asian art with a strong curatorial format, and will continue to champion contemporary art from Southeast Asia on a regional and global scale. S.E.A Focus will also actively create discourse and market development to deliver enriching experiences for galleries, artists and audiences.

COLOMBOSCOPE, Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka-based contemporary arts festival Colomboscope has announced Rhythm Alliances as the title for its ninth edition from 21 to 31 January 2026. Curated by Hajra Haider Karrar with artistic director Natasha Ginwala, the festival brings together around 50 artists, musicians and filmmakers at venues across Colombo, and will draw ‘on a range of vocabularies embodying rhythms of remembrance, dissent, and renewal.’ The edition continues Colomboscope’s role as a key contemporary arts platform in Sri Lanka since 2013.

ARTBASEL: QATAR

Art Basel will launch its inaugural Qatar edition, from 5-7 February 2026, with Preview Days on 3 and 4 February. Departing from the traditional booth model, the fair introduces an open-format exhibition with solo presentations by galleries responding to a central thematic framework. The first edition explores the theme Becoming, reflecting on humanity’s ongoing transformation and shifting systems of belief, culture, and exchange. Egyptian-born artist Wael Shawky serves as Artistic Director, working with Art Basel’s artistic leadership to shape the curatorial vision and gallery selection.

Art Jakarta Papers

Art Jakarta will present Art Jakarta Papers, a new specialised event under the Art Jakarta umbrella. The fair focuses entirely on paper-based contemporary art, featuring drawings, prints, paper sculptures, and installations presented by Asian galleries. It introduces a more focused format alongside Art Jakarta’s larger annual editions. Art Jakarta Papers aims to highlight the diverse possibilities of paper as a medium while building a stronger market for paper-based contemporary art in Indonesia and the wider region.

India Art Fair

India Art Fair will return in 2026 with its ninth edition, taking place from 5 to 8 February. Held annually in New Delhi, the fair is a leading platform for modern and contemporary art from South Asia, bringing together galleries, artists, institutions, and cultural organisations from the region and beyond.

The fair places artists’ voices at its core while connecting modern masters, contemporary practices, and vernacular traditions. Alongside the fair, India Art Fair continues its commitment to arts education and professional development through year-round programmes and public initiatives.
